Season 1 Episode 10
How can we make a difference when we are not in control?
8 September 2026
How do you make a difference when you are not in control? In this final episode of the season, Laura and Michelle don’t resolve that question so much as sit inside it together. What they uncover is that when everything external shifts, the one thing that stays constant is who you are and what you’re here to do. Drawing on deeply personal stories, including Laura’s job offer that vanished in a merger, Michelle’s sudden lockout from the inner circle at Coca-Cola, and years of interviews with practitioners navigating their own uncertainty, they explore what a personal North Star actually looks like in practice. It’s an episode about identity, safety nets and the kind of control that nobody can take from you. And it ends, as the whole season has been building towards, with the one field notebook question that might matter most: if your job title disappeared tomorrow, what’s the sentence that would still be true about what you bring and who you are in your work?
